27, 2008 Kent Gallery Artists Gather in Key West for Group Photo
This past weekend fifteen Kent Gallery artists from all over the country came together for a three hour photo session. Photographer Tony Gregory had the group assemble in an indoor studio above his new gallery, Art @ 8:30, for the initial session, then led the group to two outdoor locations for additional photo sessions. The group shot, which also included gallery owner Claire Kent, will be a central image for the Kent Gallery June 08 International Campaign and catalog which will premiere a new collection/series each of the artists is creating specifically for the June deadline.
Besides the photo sessions, the group spent time talking about their collaborative goals and sharing details of their on-going processes. A Sunday morning brunch, which included the artist's families, friends, and significant others, gave everyone an opportunity to meet and get to know one another better. The final photo choice will be decided in the next few weeks from among the hundreds of images captured. The title for the June event and its connective goals remain deliberately allusive and continue to be represented by the Shattered image alone.
